Platform questions
The short version: install NinjaTrader first, use the data feed that fits your account, then import our tools.
Do I need NinjaTrader 8 to use Shadow Edge Tools?+
Yes. Bracket Boss and Drawdown Guardian are NinjaTrader 8 Desktop add-ons for Windows.
Do I need Kinetick?+
Not necessarily. Kinetick is one market data option. If your broker, prop firm, or current data provider already supports your setup, you may not need a separate Kinetick account.
What do I need on my Windows PC?+
A normally-updated Windows 10 or 11 with automatic root-certificate updates left enabled (the default). NinjaTrader verifies your license over a secure connection at startup, and that check relies on current Windows certificates — so keep Windows Update current and don't disable automatic root-certificate updates.
Is Shadow Edge Tools endorsed by NinjaTrader?+
No. Shadow Edge Tools is an independent software vendor. NinjaTrader companies do not endorse, recommend, approve, own, or sponsor these products.
Futures risk disclosures
Futures and forex trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than the initial investment. Only risk capital should be used for trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
CFTC Rule 4.41: Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. Simulated results do not represent actual trading, may be prepared with the benefit of hindsight, and can under- or over-compensate for market factors such as liquidity. No representation is made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown.
