Breakeven stop

Also known as: BE stop, auto BE, move-to-breakeven

A stop loss adjustment that moves your stop to your entry price (plus an offset) once the trade has reached a defined favorable condition.

Breakeven stop is the discipline of taking a winner off-risk. When a trade has moved enough in your favor — typically a fixed tick distance or after a partial scale-out fills — the stop loss is moved to your entry price (often plus a small offset for fees and slippage). If the trade reverses, you exit at breakeven instead of giving back open profit.

Auto-BE features remove the manual step. You set a trigger (e.g. "move to BE after first scale-out" or "move to BE after 8 ticks favorable") and the platform manages the stop move for you. It's a plan setting, not a manual button — your stop walks itself up while you focus on the chart.
