Scale-out

Also known as: partial exit, scaling out, S1 S2 S3

A pre-planned partial exit at a price level less than the full target — typically used to bank some profit and reduce risk on the remaining position.

Scaling out means closing part of a position before the full target. Most active prop traders use 1-3 scale-out levels (often labeled S1, S2, S3) per trade. The remaining contracts can then run to the final target with the breakeven stop covering you.

Bracket Boss treats scale-outs as live broker-side orders, not manual buttons. Drag the scale lines while planning the trade, and the moment your entry fills they become working orders. If you manually move a scale after entry, that's logged as a discipline event.
